West Wiltshire Crematorium join town’s Coronation trail

West Wiltshire Crematorium has added a Union flag floral display to its site to mark the forthcoming coronation of His Majesty King Charles III and is also displaying a crown made by local primary school children.

The site’s groundsperson, Josh Barry, has planted red, white and blue flowers ahead of the historic event, and one of fifty wooden crowns throughout the area has been decorated by The Ducklings Class at St George s C of E Primary School in Semington which now forms part of the crematorium’s window display.

The tribute is also part of the Trowbridge Royal Window Wanderland 2023, which runs between May 1 and 8.

Trowbridge Chamber of Commerce is encouraging local businesses and people to decorate their windows in a suitable regal way in honour of the Coronation.

West Wiltshire Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries, with 37 sites in England, Scotland, and Wales, all set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide pleasant, tranquil places for people to visit and reflect.

Site Manager Louise Belsey said: “So many businesses and residents have been decorating their windows with a royal or coronation theme. It has been fun to work with the local school and children and provide them with the art materials to make the crown for this historic occasion.

“A majority of people today have not witnessed a Coronation in their lifetimes, so we wanted to ensure we did something to mark this momentous occasion and pay our respects – which is a fundamental part of our core business – to the new King.”
