West Wiltshire Crematorium opens its doors to the community
West Wiltshire Crematorium is opening its doors to the community next month and supporting two charities at the same time.
The crematorium is hosting a community open day on Saturday 14 October, between 10am and 3pm which will include a Macmillan Coffee Morning, raising funds for the cancer charity.
Visitors can also take part in a raffle which has been organised to raise funds for Dementia UK, this year’s corporate charity partner of Westerleigh Group, which operates West Wiltshire Crematorium.
Visitors will have the chance to tour the facilities and take a walk in 10 acres of beautiful memorial grounds and meet the crematorium team to find out more about the work they do and the exceptional care they provide to make each service uniquely personal.
Visitors can also, if they wish, take a tour of the crematory.
Westerleigh Group is one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries, with 39 sites in England, Scotland and Wales, all set within beautifully-landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide pleasant, peaceful places for people to visit and reflect.
Louise Belsey, manager of West Wiltshire Crematorium, said: “The community open day offers an opportunity for anyone to come and visit our beautiful site and ask any questions they might have, in an informal setting, about what we do here and the support we provide to bereaved families.
“It’s a chance for people to find out about the wide range of farewell services we offer, the exceptional care we provide, and the ways in which we work with families to provide services which are uniquely personal to their loved one.
“Visitors can also discover how we support the bereaved in remembering their loved ones, through a wide range of memorialisation options.
“As part of Westerleigh Group, we often provide support to many charities and organisations and for the open day, we are supporting two worthy causes who do such important work.
“No appointment is necessary for the open day, and we very much look forward to welcoming local families to our lovely grounds.”
